Do you live
in Southern or Central California? Are you visiting?
Let us show you the sky like you have never seen it
before. With our 16" (40
cm) observatory grade telescope, we will show you the moon,
planets, galaxies and nebulae. Under special arrangements,
we will have daytime shows featuring the Sun.
Our shows feature small groups that allow you time to get acquainted
the sky. Not
only is it fun, it is educational and great for children.
Learn about the constellations, planets, stars and nebulae.
Sky Show Dates
The following dates in 2006, Saturdays except
where noted, are currently scheduled as sky show dates:
July 29
August 26
September 29 (Friday)
Each show begins about half an hour after sunset (when it gets
dark)...you must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to show
time. We will provide you with the show time when you make
your reservation.
In the event of cloudy or very windy weather, your sky show
will be rescheduled to a mutually agreeable time. Special
shows for groups of 10 or more can be arranged.
How to reserve a spot
Because we only deal in small groups (parking is limited),
you must make a reservation to participate in one of our sky
shows. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
Our sky shows are presented on selected days each month (see
the dates given above). For groups of at least 10 people,
special sky shows can be scheduled.
Cost: No Charge, but
donations are appreciated.
Adults (13 Years or older):
$5.00*
Children (5-12 Years old):
$3.00
Note that children under 5 are
free...however, please be aware that such young children will
have difficulty looking through the telescope and appreciating
what they are seeing.
To reserve your spot, please call
(805) 524-3925 or email us at koolspacescience@skypipeline.com
We accept all major credit cards.
We will provide you with driving instructions when you make
your reservation.
Please Note: Because
we deal in small groups, we can not offer refunds if you fail to
show up for a sky show. If the weather is bad, we will
reschedule your visit for a mutually agreeable time. If
you are visiting from a significant distance and we must cancel
the show, we will make an exception.
Notes concerning the weather
Although we have a state of the art
telescope, we can not see through clouds. Also, high wind
can be dangerous to the telescope. Under these conditions
or if these conditions are predicted, we will cancel our sky
show. We will try to contact you, if time permits.
However, if there is uncertainty concerning the weather, we
recommend that you call us prior to driving to Fillmore. As
weather conditions often vary over California, do not assume
that the weather is bad in Fillmore just because it is poor
where you live or are staying...call us. Do not assume
that a sky show is cancelled unless we tell you it is.
Please dress warmly...even during
the summer, it can get chilly at night so bring a jacket or
sweater.
Disclaimer
We will do our best to provide you with a unique sky
show. However, there are some things beyond our
control. Some objects you may want to see, may not be
visible at the time of your sky show. If you have very
poor eyesight, it may be difficult for you to see some of the
objects we show you. If the weather suddenly changes for
the worse, we may have to curtail our show or reschedule
it.
